Tamper evidence, prevention of moisture ingress and shelf-life protection are among the benefits a global sports nutrition brand has gained from induction cap sealing its products.
Applied Nutrition, headquartered in the UK, produces a wide range of products that are induction sealed, including protein powders, supplements and vitamins in both capsule and powder form.
These products are sold in over 80 countries, and are stocked in major retailers including Walmart, Tesco and Boots.
They use Enercon’s best-selling range of induction sealers, the Super Seal™ range, which are currently operating on six production lines.
Gareth Powell, Research & Development Manager at Applied Nutrition, said:
The reason we’ve made use of induction heat sealing is two-fold.
First from a brand perspective, we’re exporting globally, and an induction seal offers a moisture barrier and shelf-life protection for every product that we manufacture.
Secondly the end consumer has the trust that the product is tamper evident, well sealed, and safe to consume."
One of its most popular product ranges is its protein powders, which are sealed in both PET and HDPE containers in sizes from 750ml up to 2l, with cap diameters of 15mm to 120mm. Each day more than 60,000 tubs, containing 20 tonnes of finished powder, are produced.
Gareth commented:
