Global sports nutrition brand Applied Nutrition has selected Enercon Industries as its induction sealer supplier to support its latest factory expansion.
As one of Europe's fastest-growing sports nutrition and wellness brands, Applied Nutrition needed to scale up production to meet increasing global demand. Its products are now sold in over eighty countries and stocked by major international retailers, including Walmart, Tesco, and Boots.
To support this growth, Applied Nutrition has added two new protein powder production lines, both now equipped with Enercon's industry-leading Super Seal™ induction cap sealers.
Gareth Powell, Head of R&D at Applied Nutrition, explained:
"We've recently increased our factory and added two more lines with a much higher production output, so we've gone back to Enercon as a reliable machinery supplier, and we've put in the Enercon induction sealers. The reason we chose Enercon for the new line expansion was: one, we've used their equipment before and we know it's reliable, but really, it's because of the technical backup, knowledge and support in getting the machines into our production facility and working as they should. The other benefit is our line operatives can go through a half day training session and they can be up and running on those machines on the same day."
This investment marks a continuation of the long-standing partnership between the two companies. Applied Nutrition already uses Enercon's Super Seal™ technology across several lines to seal its diverse product range—including protein powders, supplements, and vitamins in both capsule and powder formats.
This latest investment builds on a long-standing supplier relationship between Applied Nutrition and Enercon. Applied Nutrition already utilised Enercon's Super Seal™ machines to seal its diverse range of sports nutrition products, including protein powders, supplements, and vitamins in both capsule and powder form.
Talking about the protein powder range, Gareth commented:
"We produce in excess of 60,000 tubs of protein powder a day, and that's twenty tonnes of finished powder. So having machines that run 24 hours a day, 7 days a week is essential to ensure that we can produce the products we need to meet global demand. We also need equipment that can deal with the variants in container size. Our protein powders are packaged in anything from a 750ml pot up to a 2l pot."
To meet these requirements, Enercon's induction sealers are fitted with a unique flat sealing head, allowing a wide range of cap sizes (15mm to 150mm) to be sealed on a single production line.
